Gardener

Today I planted some veggies in spme planters on the stairs in my back yard. 3 different varities of heirloom tomatoes, chard, kale and basil. I have 4 more pots to fill so now i just have to figure out what i am going to put in them. Then I went and rode my bike up a bunch of steep roads for a while and got pretty tired and then came home. I went and saw the new film by "The Collective" called "Roam" tongiht. It was pretty cool, not just the usual dumb biker jumps but some pretty sweet cinemetography and cool locations and good riding. Tomorrow Sarah and I are going to go look at a large single bedroom apartment behind some ones house by campus to live in. It migh be nice to live a little closer to the school so we are checking some places aout and might move if we find somehting cool. This weekend I am headin down to the Firestone AMBC race near Santa Barbara. That should be pretty cool and I am all stked to ride MTB now that i saw that movie. The trails here are in awesome shape and I might go shred the Gnar tomorrow if i feel like washing my bike again afterwards. anyways, thats about it.

Learn to Pee

I forgot to tell you all about ryans peeing problem. If you have ever ridden with him you knw ou have to stop like every 5 minutes so he can adjust his seat or pee.. well anyways, in the circuit race saturday he had to pee, and cant pee off his bike like a real pro so he pulled over at a point when he thought the pace had slowed down a bit. i was going to wait but he said no thanks. anyways, about 2 laps later i start looking for him in the pack and drift to the back. he is so where to be found. I guess it was an extra long pee and by the time he finished we were all long gone. He chased for about a lap and a half as hard as he could but didnt ever get back on and lost 10 minutes. what a dork!

TOW fineto

Finished it off today. What a weekend. Fridays stage was mega windy and flat so it was extra hard. We road around in cirles for like 3 hours going balls out with the canadian mafia trying to hurt everyone. They succeded and Sven "ultimate fighter" Tufy killed everyone. I got dropped at 1k to go in the cross wind and lost 1:17. Holy shit... Saturday morning we headed down to the TT. Had all the super sick gear, disc, helmet and all that. Rode pretty good and ended up 14th. Trebon killed it and finished 30 sec behind Sven so we all had ot pay him $5. That guy is such a faker! Then we did this aweful circuit race on super narrow roads all full speed ahead. Luckily Symetrics road the front all day and I just tailgunned it and avoided the crashes. Oh yeah, on friday the whole field was getting shattered in this cross wind so everyone was riding on the far left side of the road just dying to stay on, but there was a yellow line rule so the officials stopped the entire race and made us restart. It was pretty hilarious. Today we did a pretty cool stage in the woods. Most of the roads were pretty good but one was single lane and covered with debree from the trees. good stuff, There were a alot of climbs but they were al pretty short and low pitch so we could never get anything going. Rolled in as a big group. Ryan was off for a long time and then I bridged up tp him on the last climb, but the canadians didnt like that so they chased us down. at least we made it hard on them. Now i am waiting for Malice to come pick me up and take me to portland so i can fly home tomorrow. sweet! later on

I got propositioned on my blog, first time that has ever happened. Sweet, I am so hot...!
Sarah got a kick out of that one too.
Later on suckas

Willamette Valley Classic

Just getting ready to start the weekend off with a 53 mile flat road race and It has started raining. Awesome. What fun, so glad i could be here for some for some of the "classics" in Oregon this year. It is supposed to clear up tomorrow though, so we have that going for us, which is nice. All the MTB racers that are here are creating our own TT competition. $5 in and who ever out of us is the fastest in the TT wins.We could actually make more doing that than the real prize moiney since they think it is fun to pay guys like $14 for 12th place over all. WTF? That is just plain insulting. I wonder where all the money goes? We calculated that with 400 racers they are making $40,000 in entry fees and paying out $1000 in prize money. where did it all go? I am going to dominate the MTB TT though.. I got some Zip disc and 808 wheels, a TT helmet and a skin suit, and a 54x 11 so I cant help but go fast. Sunday should be the coolest stage with the big climbs and back roads throught the woods and everything. Untill then we will be riding in circles in the valley and trying not to get taken out by any sheep. Word.

On again off again

The weather, my legs and how it feels to live in California. That about sums it up. It has been a pretty wet week but on Thursday it was super sunny and warm so I went out for a good 5 hours, got super sunburned and had a blast. All these sweet roads are closed to traffic right now due to the hills falling down from the rain so stuff that usually sucks to ride is awesome because I can ride in the middle of the road and not get buzzed by crappy california drivers in their smelly cars.BTW, sunblock workes even if you apply it after the fact. I forgot it on thursday, got super roasted but when I got hoem i slathered it all over my self and then again before bed and by the next day you couldnt even tell I had been out in the sun. Crazy! Friday I was pretty worked and only did about 2.5 hours at a snails pace. Then yesterday I felt great, did 4 hours and tons of climbing and then today I almost died trying to pedal my MTB up a hill so turned around and came home. Weird stuff, but if the same schedule continues I should be good for 2 of the three days next weekend, hopefully anyways. Tonight we are going to have a BBQ out back and then shoot some bb guns. 4 more days untill another race, I can hardly wait. Untill then, ride, rest and eat some taocs.

Another one Down

I think that is the 7th time I have done the Sea otter. This time was by far the most fun. The courses were just totally fucked from the rain so it was actually fun to ride around. The STXC was just super nasty, ala Portland CX nats the first year. I rode OK, relied on my skills in the mud rather than fitness to finish 12th. The XC was pretty good, almost 3 hours long and pretty dry compared to the rest of the weekend. It did start raining about half way through but the sandy soil stayed pretty good. Road with some pretty good guys, then ditched them on the descent on the second lap and rode it in solo for like 26th or so. It was pretty good for the first XC of the year and I felt decent, but not totally on it. That is good though as if I was killing it I would be pretty worried for the remainder of the season to come. @ more weeks of training in the rain and then it is back up to Oregon for the Willamette Valley Classic stage race. Should be a good time. Hopefully I can get my TT bike set up by then, still waiting on a fork. I guess I will procrastinate for a little bit longer and then face the inevitable and go ride in the rain for a few hours. Sweet. Got a pretty good case of the poison oak all over my legs again this year. Hopefully it will be all cleared up by the time I hit the road race in a few weeks so I can show off my skinny white legs..

Mud Otter

It has been pretty nice for the last 2 days but the ground is still super wet. The super CX was a muddy mess, kinda reminded me of cross a lot. I rode pretty well, getting dropped up the big climb then smocking the DH and passing everyone. Caught the front group with 2 to go then flatted and rolled it in on the rim. Pretty sketchy riding on the pavement on a rim, let me tell you! Did the super short TT today and didn't even get a chance to go hard cause it was so muddy and short. I did crash once though and broke my seat off the rails and tore my skinsuit. I am blowing through the equipment this weekend, Sorry Markey! Now I am at home for the day and night to escape the circus and spend some QT with the lady. Headed back for tomorrow afternoons STXC and the Kona Party at Bay bikes. Invitation only suckers! Stop by the Kona tent to get your. Until next time, It has started raining again so I am going to take a nap and hope it is sunny when I wake up.

Rain

Man, it is nasty out today. 55 and poring rain. It has been poring for the last 8 hours and doesn't look like it will stop anytime soon. I thought California was supposed to be nice in the spring... The Sea Donkey should be pretty entertaining in the rain though. Some wicked sick trails full of running water and then the odd invisible sticky mud quadmire as you pinn it down the trail. Should make for some good times. I am going to drink some more coffee, make some breakfast and then put on a plastic suit and go for a ride. Oh Boy! Last night Ryan was going to come up here but stopped in Monterey because it was to far to come all the way here. What a slacker! All the Euro Konas get in today so it will be cool to see them when I head down tomorrow. Our new bikes are Pimpin, Matson has been slaving away getting them all set up this week and they look good. Hope I can pedal it is good as it looks. Shannon over at www.tovanillaforyou.blogspot.com is a slacker.

Peace out
