This is my final week of good hard solid training before I embark on a month long sojerene into the racing world. It all kicks off with the Mt Hood Classic in Hood River. This has to be one of the coolest races of the ear and I am excited to go hit it. Following that it is time to head east, all the way to north Carolina for Stop two of the Norba series in Sugar Mtn, NC. Sugar mountain is near Boone, NC, the infamous local of a certain someones return to cycling. No, I am not talking about Bob Roll, but a Texan by the name of lance. After that excitement we head up to Mt Snow Vermont for another go round, then travel up to Canada eh? for round 4 of the World Cup. I hopefully will be going good by then, but starting in row 9 will be slightly disadvantageous I am sure. Then back home for the move into my new sweet massive studio apartment and some good recovery before the next session of racing. Until then, I am going to go out and beat myself up today with some more intervals in hopes of getting that last bit of top end fitness so I can drop those poor poor suckers who have been getting tired and beat up over in Europe. So long suckers! If you are into feeling bad for a guy, check up on Doug Ollenenshaw over at www.dougollerenshaw.com That guy is bummin right now. I thought only old people broke their hips...

Killing Me
Man, old guys on bikes kill me. For two days in a row now, as i am tooling out to some huge hill to do intervals on I get blitzed by old men just hammering for all they are worth past me. Then when I get to the climb and start doing my efforts they are totally cracked and can barley keep it going. I have to stop doing my rides during the lunch time rush out here. It is crazy. Yesterday I had a group pass me from Fox out on their lunch ride and then the old men two days in a row. Its crazy, I wasnt just noodling along either both times, I was probably going about 20 when these guys roared past me. I guess they are all about it though, so more power to them. Thats all I got...

Road Racing
Turns out the world head quarters of Walmart is located in Northwest Arkansas, exactly the place where I just had a sweet weekend of road racing. Interestingly enough, there are actually tons of walmart concept stores around there. Right next to our super ghetto hotel was a brand new walmart super market that actually had decent food. Some organic stuff and ever a little local flare. Not to bad. Anyways, the Joe Martin stage race was pretty fun, 2 big road days to start it off, not to hilly though so after trying our hardest to make it break up on the climbs it all came in together. The up hill TT following the second 92 mile stage was not exactly a good time, and I ended up in a pretty bad 35th. The crit wasn't much better and after avoiding about 1 million crashes finally called it a day with 30 laps to go. 90 minute crits are awful.. Now I am back at hoe and loving it. The weather is perfect, 75 and sunny and I have been doing some sweet testing on my new dualie and it is Pretty sweet. Got the new Fox RP23 shock on it and it rules! I think I will race hat thang back east like it is going out of style. The garden grew like a billion times faster this weekend than last weekend and I am going to have to get some tomato cages to keep the plants from falling over. That's about it, 2 weeks of good hard training is on tap, and then back up to Oregon for the MT Hood Classic. Word.

Norba Crusher
Yep, thats right, got one on the podium at the season opener in Fonatana. Pretty freaking sweet. Ended up taking advantage of todd and jeremys crash, but still nto a bad ride. droped everyone but thse guys and kabush so i am pretty happy. i stil feel like i have some more to give so hopefully things will pan out in june and july even better. fontana was pretty crazy. everyone everywhere had huge chromed out wheels on the crappy cars and SUV's and we got threatned by 10 year olds on BMX bikes weilding knives. The course was sweet, pretty uban and bombed out looking but rad trails and some sweet sections down drainage ditches. the STXC went up the mountain cross track as was good fun too. finished that one up 8th. all in all a good weekend. and more exciting news! my plants have started comming up, now the Kale and Chard sare rocking and the basil is going to bust through any second. the tomatoes probab;y grew like 3 inshes too. sweet peet. 2 days at home and it is off to arkansas for some road racing. anyways, thats about all i got. oh yeah, there were kids out on the course during the race shooting paint ball guns at us during the race. i dont think they were trying to hit anyone or did hit anyone but it was pretty hilarious regardless..

AMBC MTB
It is pretty fun to do a local MTB race again. What with all the Norbas and Sea otters and the like we dont get to many oppertunities to do the kind of racing where it all began. Ryan and I hit up the Fire SToe Walker AMBC yesterday in Beulton. It was like a 3hr driev but it was worth it. They had it on the massive winery/ranch. It was in full green bloom, with massive rolling hills and expansive wineries. There were some cows out there though and on the second lap we crested a hill to some face to face with a like 3000 lb bull running down the trail ahead of us. This guy was huge. Proabbaly 6 feet wide and was leaving massive hoof prints int he super hard pack dry single track. We came skidding to a stop and this crazy south african kid that was with us was just like" ride at him and he will move" so we let him give it a try and he got about 2 feet away and then stopped casue the cow didnt move. then we treid to climb up the hill around him and he just stood there staring at us and stomping. it was scary shit. go tthrough unscathed though. After riding around for most of the race with the SA kid i attacked and then ryan bridged up and we rolled in for the old 1-2. Ryan was suposed to win casue he won our ro-shambo for the victory but then he break checked me at the line and i ended up crossing first. It was good fun and we made some cold hard cash fo rhte effort so it was pretty sweet. Now i hope my legs start comming around a bit for next weekend in Fontucky as the locals call it. thats about it, my seeds havent sprouted yet, but maybe when i get back from LA they will be rockin.
